Military leaders

Batmanov Vasily Fotievich (1891-30.11.1918) – one of the active participants in the establishment of Soviet power in the Komi Krai. Born in the village of Mokhcha. Participated in the First World War. Upon returning home in 1918, he was actively involved in the revolutionary struggle. Was elected as the chairman of the county executive committee of the Soviets. Istomin Petr Anisimovich (1861-29.05.1919) – the first Komi pilot, a participant of the First World War, a participant of the October Revolution in Petrograd, an active participant of the civil war. Born in the village of Ust-Ukhta in Pechorsky district, the Arkhangelsk province. The airport of Syktyvkar was named after P. Istomin. The source, the source, the source.

Filippov Vasily Ionikievich (01.01.1924-07.01.1987) – the Soviet military leader, lieutenant general. Born in Izhma. He was a military adviser in Cuba and Yemen, a deputy chief military adviser in Afghanistan. Khatanzeisky Andrey Guryevich (10.21.1923-14.02.1945) – the Hero of the Soviet Union. Born in the village of Mokhcha. A participant of the Great Patriotic War since September 1942. He fought on the Donskoy, Steppe, 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian fronts. He took part in the liberation of Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia. Killed in Hungary.
